Kochumary (1937), joined the missionary order of 'Daughter's of charity' whose
headquarters of the Indian Province is situated in Berhampur, Orissa. She adopted the religious name of Sr. Mary Loujs. She was elevated to the position of the Mother Provincial of the Indian province of the congregation in 1985. Incidentally, she is the first Indian to be entrusted with this responsibility, the past incumbents being all Spanish sisters. She has successfully completed two terms of service, totalling a period of 9 years as the Mother Provincial
