Kakkappen was studying for intermediate at Trichy when he was recalled home to take over the management of Pompie St. Mary's U.P. School, rendered vacant by the sudden demise of his uncle, Abraham. It was mainly by his efforts that the school was raised to the status of a full fledged high school. He was the President of Village Panchayath court for many years. It was by his strenuous efforts that an inpatient ward and operation theatre were added to the Kattoor govt. dispensary and a huge building put.up to house all govt. offices at Kattoor. He was deeply religious and a founder member of St. Vincent De Paul Society. . Kakkappan died on 6-2-1946 at the age of 50. |
